Plebbit Token (PLEB) is the solution for decentralized governance of the Plebbit project's development and maintenance. Owning PLEB will be a requirement for submitting proposals in the Plebbit DAO, voting to approve them or reject them, thereby shaping the future of the project. WHAT IS PLEBBIT? Plebbit is the only fully decentralized social network based on communities. It operates on a serverless, adminless, pure peer-to-peer protocol, which can be utilized with any forum interface built on top of it, offering a decentralized alternative to Reddit. To combat spam, community owners can set any kind of challenge for their users, such as captcha. WHY NOT FEDERATED? Unlike federated social media, Plebbit is purely peer-to-peer. Anyone can create and manage their own community with their own rules, and Plebbit users can connect directly to them. Therefore, Plebbit stands as one of the most resilient bastions of free speech ever created. WHY NOT A BLOCKCHAIN? Unlike blockchain-based social media, every Plebbit user functions as a full node, automatically seeding all communities from which they download content. All content is text-only (including links to embed media), making it extremely lightweight and capable of scaling to millions of users. HOW CAN I USE IT? Currently, there are four apps built on top of the Plebbit protocol, and anyone can create their own: - https://plebbitapp.eth.limo: the original client based on the modern Reddit UI. - https://seedit.eth.limo: a Plebbit interface based on the original Reddit UI. - https://plebchan.eth.limo: a Plebbit interface designed with a 4chan UI. - https://plebones.eth.limo: a bare-bones Plebbit UI, initially created for testing purposes.
